    Description

    >Offered here for your consideration is an
    old & original
    1940's EDDIE JOOST player endorsed
    vintage baseball glove
    !!
    Please see all
    six
photos, as they are an important part of my description. This very fine condition
    split-finger
baseball mitt is model no. "SG 355", with the maker "Coast To Coast Stores" (at least that's what I
    think
it says; the maker's name is imprinted onto the glove directly above the model no.). This
    scarce
leather mitt is still quite supple, and it feels great to slip your hand into the glove! I believe the glove dates to the 1940's, after Joost had established his career and earned a baseball glove player endorsement.

    History
    :
    Eddie Joost
was an American baseball player and manager, who began his major league playing career in 1936 and ending in 1955. Joost played for the
Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Athletics
    and
    Boston Red Sox
. He managed the A's later in his career. Joost was an outstanding defensive player, and hit for power though he struck out quite a bit. Eddie Joost was born in
    San Francisco, California
and passed away in 2011 at age 94.
    Condition:
the offered baseball glove is in very *Fine Shape* overall, exhibiting only minor usage overall...
    nice!!!
The cloth piping towards the mitt's bottom is in great shape, with very little breaks! The webbing's lacing appears to be original! There is
    no
writing inside or out! The glove's innards are also in very fine condition as well, and I see
    no
tears! The mitt retains a very nice patina, too!
