-You are ordering this August Weygang , mold 414, Farrier Occupational Pewter Stein / Flagon.-Approx. 14" tall, weighs just over 3 pounds empty.
-Imperfect. Please read condition details.
-Features: 3 dimensional farrier / shoeing smith shaping a piece of metal, likely a custom fit horse shoe, on an anvil that is set on a stump. Protruding horse head surrounded by horseshoe and stirrup. Engraving and date on the lid should be understood to be a tribute to the past. Weygang's firm was established in 1885 and this piece was probably produced between 1885 and 1920. shield reads, "Joh. Lieber, Hufschmied zu, Augsburg, 1767" Likely referring to a person (real, historical, or possibly fabricated) named Johanne Lieber. Hufschmied translates to a farrier / shoeing smith. Augsburg is a city 50km west of Munich and is Germany's third oldest city, founded in 15BC by the Romans.
