Description
Vtg Rawlings Bob Swift Catcher's Mitt Baseball Glove Professional Model 40/50's?Bob Swift played in the 40's and 50's. He is also known for being
in one of the most famous photographs in American sporting history.
You might check out the story about him catching for Eddie Gaedel
on August 19, 1951, during the Detroit Tigers playing the St. Louis
Browns. It was quite interesting.
There is no INK or MARKER on the leather or under the wrist strap.
Cloth patch is intact.
The mitt is old and has wear from age and use. The rawhide lacing is broken near
the top of the thumb area (as shown).
The Rolled-Leather Piping manifests moderate wear, commensurate with
honest use.
There is no webbing going across by the thumb (not sure if there ever was).
Overall for its age it's in in decent condition. We are selling this as-is, as-found,
for display use only, and not for actual use.
