    Description

Stunning Set of Vintage Glass Doorknobs with Swivel Spindle and Brass Back Plates/Knob Rose (the back plates have a square opening for a lock piece that is not included)
12 Point Crystal Clear Faceted Glass
I believe the backs/shanks of the doorknobs are solid brass.  Each knob has a metal insert that the spindle screws into that are magnetic.  A magnet does not stick to the areas where the spindle does not go.  The round back plates / knob rose are solid brass also.  A magnet will not stick to them. They each have a square opening for a lock piece.  The lock piece is not included.  The spindle is not brass. It
is considered a swivel spindle. The spindle's two pieces do not line up perfectly when screwed tight. I have been told this does not affect its usefulness ?   Please see the second to last picture.
Each glass door knob has a mirrored starburst center as seen in the pictures to super size.  Please don't forget to look at all of them.  The pictures are part of the description. The items are vintage and there are some signs of use and wear.
    "
There once was a time — 80 or so years ago — when multifaceted glass doorknobs with mirrored star-burst centers were standard issue in new homes. Today, they are mined like diamonds at salvage yards and flea markets. Unlike the flimsy "builder's special" models now sold at he corner hardware store, glass knobs from the first half of the 20th century were made to last, mounted in steel or brass shanks, as opposed to the brittle metal alloy and plastic ones used now.  Their enduring craftsmanship and design — and their ability to work with most modern locksets — have earned them preferential status among owners of old and new houses alike."
