Description
Made in Korea, this is a Regent 04352 right- handed Lymon Bostock signature baseball glove. This glove is made from 'Top Grade Cowhide'. It has a 'Cross Bar web' which is also what I believe is called an 'H web' and says it was produced under one or more US patents...no. 213.284 to 213.289 &211848. Although the patent numbers indicate 1969...that is not necessarily the date an item was made....I am going to take an educated guess and date this glove from the late 1970's.Lymon Bostock was an extremely talented young major league baseball player who played for four seasons, for the Minnesota Twins as an outfielder (1975–77) and (1978) for the California Angels. He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. His record breaking career was cut short just a week before the '78 season was to end, when he was shot and killed in Gary, Indiana while visiting his uncle.
I have measured this glove to be 8 1/2" wrist to fingertips, and 10 1/2" at it's widest spread without forcing it. With the exception of a few what look to be 'water' stains, the condition of this glove is exceptional and the leather is very supple. This glove could be used in a game tomorrow !! Happy Collecting.
