    Description

Made in the Phillipines, this is a Rawlings RBG 27 12 1/2" left handed baseball glove.  Rawlings gloves have long been the preferred glove for professional baseball players.  The gloves are made with leather from the Horween Leather company which has been supplying the leather for these gloves since 1929.   Rawlings produced just about 3,000 gloves in 2003.   About half of major league players use gloves made of the Horween Leather.  This glove is in exceptional condition with just one problem.  The back of the little finger area has been rubbed so bad that in three places, the outer skin of the leather has worn off.  I wonder weather someone didn't slam into the outer fence catching or at least trying to catch a well hit fly ball!!!???  The worn areas are about 1/4" wide and about 7/16", 5/8" and 1/4" long respectively.  It is strange that the rest of the glove is in such good condition.   I do not know when the model RGB 27 glove was made.  It is hard to tell but when you look closely at the 7th picture it looks almost like there was some very faint writing there...maybe a signature???....but it might just be my imagination.  I have measured this glove to be 11 1/4" wrist to fingertips, and 10 12" at it's widest spread without forcing it.  This glove could be used in a game tomorrow !!    Happy Collecting.
