HALL OF FAMER TONY LAZZERI MODEL MARATHON 4227 BASEBALL GLOVE.
I went to BASEBALL GLOVE COLLECTOR GALLERY SITE and identified this glove as a MARATHON MODEL 4227. This glove is for a right hander, and fits on the left hand.
This glove is in very good condition for its age late 1930's to early 1940's. There are no holes in the glove. The butt of the glove needs some new stitching (see pics).
Someone wrote their name on the adjustable leather strap. The sheepskin lining under the strap that goes across your hand has been mostly worn away.
