VINTAGE GOLDSMITH SPLIT FIVE FINGER ELMER RIDDLE? BASEBALL GLOVE/MITT

Up for auction is this 1940s? GOLDSMITH (MELLIN'S SPORTING GOODS COMPANY OF CHICAGO), POSSIBLE ELMER RIDDLE MODEL, FIVE SPLIT FINGER FIELDERS GLOVE/MITT.  The webbing between the thumb and the index finger appears to be original but may not be complete. It consists of two pieces of leather in the shape of an inverted "T" but it may have had three pieces of leather in the shape of an "H" on its side. There are no holes or tears  or rips either on the exterior or interior lining. The leather is pliable, not too stiff, and the hand fits nicely making a good deep pocket. The stamped facsimile signature and the DW has vanished with time and wear, however there is some stamping that says LICENSED UNDER Pat. No 223129 but the metal button on the back wrist strap still is readable and shows the "Goldsmith" name. Please examine the scans carefully for accurate determination of condition and general idea.
