    Description

Vintage 1952  MacGregor made in America baseball gloves plus 1954 genuine baseball spikes. Both used celebrating America's past time.  The fielders glove  is all leather with original webbing. It is 91/2 " wide and 9' tall. Compared to today's gloves which, are huge nets, this glove was the popular glove at the time and purchased in the famous Honus Wagner sports store in Pittsburgh, PA.  It has seen many games including championship games while I was in the Army. The spikes are Rawlings Fleetfoots size 8. They don't make spikes like these anymore. Fielders had to be cautious of runners coming in spikes high ala Ty Cobb. The catcher's glove is a 1960 Russ Nixon model (Russ was an American league catcher from 1957 to 1968 plus a manager). It is all leather, grip control MacGreggor model G174. It is 10" wide and 9 " tall. In good condition.  All offered items were made in the USA. This offer would be a great trove for collectors or for history buffs. They brought me great pleasure. I was scouted by the Pirates and Boston Red Soxs but never made it.
