    Description

Here is a vintage 1970 era very rare Spalding Mike Andrews Professional model 42-265 baseball glove for a RH thrower, like Andrews was. The glove was made in the USA. The catalog info I have shows this glove only being made in 1970 with Andrews endorsement and sold for .45 when the top line glove sold for .00 and the cheapest glove sold for .00. The glove is an adult size glove and is well made as a middle of the pack glove. The glove measures 12" long through the palm. The stamping on the glove is Form Pocket, Mike Andrews Professional Model, Radial Laced Heel, 42-265, and Spalding. On the back of the glove is stamped Made in USA,
100% Nylon Stitched, 5 dots (to designate 1970, the year the glove was made), Pat. No. 2,985,757, Full Back, Patent Applied For, (would later become Pat. No. 3,576,036) and has a aerodynamic symbol stamped on the back. Fastback style model and as most of you know, Rawlings was making the USA gloves for Spalding at this time.
Note that I have another Mike Andrews glove on eBay currently (it's a model 42-2651) which is similar but with better stamping, etc.
The only owners ink on the glove is a very faint P-2 (I think) in faded green marker on the back of the thumb. Nice and solid leather exterior and soft and smooth interior leather, with just some light chafing down by the heel. The leather piping  overall is nice. The original Spalding patch is nice. The web leather lacing is intact and original and does show some wear here and there. Broken in with good form to the glove. The stamping is a little light in the pocket, etc. but is still readable.
Mike Andrews played from 1966 - 1973 as a 2nd baseman and a 1st baseman. His best years were for the Boston Red Sox from 1966 through 1970 and he was on the 1967 Red Sox team that lost in the World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals. He then played in 1971-1973 for the Chicago White Sox and finished out the 1973 season with the Oakland Athletics or A's and he then played on the 1973 A's World Series World Championship team that beat the New York Mets. He was an AL All-Star in 1969.
I have other gloves and mitts on eBay ending now and I like to combine shipping whenever possible. If you win more than one glove you'll have to pay the grand total for shipping. But I'll refund you the difference back on the price of combined shipping. Or I'll send out an invoice if possible.
