Description
Here is a very nice and unique youth vintage Rawlings model PM32 The Playmaker right handed thrower baseball glove. It is endorsed by Fred Hatfield. Rawlings put this endorsed glove out from 1954-1958. It was a boys youth model and displays great with nice silver stamping still showing on the front side. Deep Well model. Hinged Pad also stamped on the front. Stamped on the back is Rawlings, The Finest in the Field, and on the middle of the three fingers it says "Place Two Middle Fingers in this Section. Pat. No. 2311949.This is definitely a youth sized glove and measures 9" long through the palm and measures 10" wide measuring straight across.
Very nice condition for its age. Silver stamping still readable on front. Printing on back all readable, but not as much silver stamping left on the backside. Very soft (I assume vinyl but could be leather) interior. Shiny button on back with red Rawlings. Original coated shoestring lacing is still intact. A few dark brown marks on the light colored interior lining. Leather still flexible overall. The web is more stiff. No owners ink on the glove.
Fred Hatfield played from 1950-1958 for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. He played 2nd, 3rd and shortstop.
