    Description

    "The Thirsty Rider"
    Mold No. 2382
German ceramic, etched, 1 L, ceramic inlaid lid.
    Signed H. Schlitt
    No text on this specimen.
    Dated 1897
    Condition and Description:
Overall in excellent condition.  The only minor knocks are some errant paint specks (from when a previous owner painted their house - I removed the larger specks easily with warm soapy water + my fingernail, if patient the rest can be removed similarly) and two out of sight tiny fleck/dings on the underside of the base (as pictured) - displays incredibly well.  This a fantastic stein with tremendous presence and represents a quintessential H. Schlitt design, the color is very strong for an antique beer stein rapidly approaching 125 years of age!  What can you say, that is one thirsty rider.  Shows up with his trusty steed, sword, shield and dog - but in the end absconds with a cask of booze riding his steed drunkenly into that good night.
    Dimensions:
Height: ~11.4" tall from base to top of figural lid
Width: ~4.7" at the base of stein's body
