    Description

    Royal Bavarian II Infantry Regiment 1908/10 Regimental Beer Stein Lithophane base.
    Stein text reads: "Royal Bavarian II Infantry Regiment "von der Tann" 2. Company Regensburg 1908/10. In commemoration of the Imperial Manuevers 1909 Battlew near Tauberbischofscheim."
    This item is in good condition with normal signs of aging. As near as I can tell, this is not a reproduction. The lithophane is a bust of a male solider in uniform. The handle does not have a bump and is smooth. The lid is heavy and cast, not stamped, and the outside is darker than the inside and both are uneven in color, indicating authenticity. The figure on the lid is that of an infantry man, which matches the description on the finial on the stein. The buttons, buckles, insignias, and medals are highlighted with hand painting. Only last names are listed on the roster and the dedicated owner, Xaver Feuerer, is included in the list.
    This item includes a translation of the stein and lid.
