    Description

Rothenburg O.D. Tauber Plönlein Clear Glass And Pewter Beer Stein. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German town in northern Bavaria known for its medieval architecture. It has inspired Disney theme parks with it's fairytale like setting. Half-timbered houses line the cobblestone lanes of its old town. The town walls include many preserved gate houses and towers, plus a covered walkway on top. St. Jakobs Church houses an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. The medieval Town Hall has a tower with panoramic views. Many think that the name Plönlein refers to a yellow timber-frame house at the entrance of the Spital quarter. Its true that the tilted, crooked houses in the center of the Plönlein. The term Plönlein is actually translated as a small square at a fountain, which means that the ensemble at the Plönlein also includes the fountain in front of the lone timber-frame house and the two towers of the old city wall that rise to its left and right on the left the Siebersturm leading to Spital quarter, on the right the tower for the Kobolzeller Tor from 1360, which openstowards the Tauber valley. The Stein is lided and stands approximately 8.5 inches tall. No cracks or chips. Good condition. See pictures
