Rawlings Stan Musial PML RH Baseball Glove w/PICTURE GLOVE BOX-no lid Cardinals

Here is a used but still nice and usable 1950's Rawlings Stan Musial model PML baseball glove for a right handed thrower. It also comes with a Rawlings Stan Musial picture glove box, but it is missing the lid. There is no lid for the box in this auction.  Made in USA.  This is a youth sized glove and it measures 9.5" long through the palm. It also measures 10.5 wide straight across when stretched out. The glove is stamped nicely in silver ink, which is still mostly there. The glove has a Deep Well Pocket, Hinged Pad, says "The Playmaker", model PML, Rawlings, Mdie in USA. It also has a picture pocket of Stan"The Man" Musial, with Musial's stamped signature and also says Pro Leaguer. On the back also in weaker silver stamping is Rawlings (logo) and "The Finest in the Field" on the backstrap and Place Two Middle Fingers in This Section on the back of the middle finger. The glove also has a nice shiny brass Rawlings button on the back.
The Rawlings picture box measures 7.5" x 7.5" x 6". As noted elsewhere there is no lid to cover the box with this listing. And there is writing on one side of the box. See all 12 pictures and use the eBay enlarger as well. It's hard to find these old picture boxes. The PML glove with Musial's endorsement was made from 1953 - 1959 (7 years) per Rawlings catalog info.
The glove leather is soft and useable. Most of the original silver stamping is still there. The interior leather is soft with some of the top of the leather flaking off down at the heel. The rest of the interior leather just has some discoloration. Nice shiny brass button. Leather lacing looks original and is intact. The piping is soft covered vinyl over cloth and shows wear normal for its use. NO OWNER'S INK on the glove. This glove does not exactly match the glove on the box, but they are both model PML gloves.
THERE IS NO LID FOR THE BOX. The box shows pictures of Musial on the front and back and shows a picture of the PML glove on each side. PLEASE NOTE that the back picture of Stan has red marker writing on it. Box still displays well on 3 sides. There is creasing on the box here and there but no tears or rips. Most of the creases are up at the top which makes sense. Nice gloss still on the box.
Stan Musial is a MLB Hall of Famer with a great career for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941 - 1963. Rawlings Sporting Goods Company was headquartered in St. Louis and it was a natural to have Musial be the main endorser for the Playmaker line of 3 finger baseball gloves in the 1950's (1953-1959 were the years the PML glove was made).
