  • Condition: Very nice mitt that has not been broken in and hardly used if at all. Original white lacing is intact. Well made mitt with leather piping that is soft and nice. Soft leather on exterior and also the interior where that hand goes. There is a faint S-P in faded red paint on bottom on interior leather. I tried to clean it all but there is still some residue left but it blends in pretty well with the dark interior leather. Felt padding on underside of backstrap is still mostly there and nice and soft.

    Description

    Here is a vintage 1950's MADE IN CANADA DR or D&R  Model 22 baseball 1st baseman's mitt or glove for a RH thrower.  The mitt is hardly used if it was used at all. Someone did write S-P in a red paint on the interior which I've cleaned up so that it now blends in pretty well with the dark interior leather. See the pics. The adult sized mitt measures 11" long through the pocket. Quality soft reddish-brown leather. Very sharp DR cloth patch on the backside and the DR logo is also stamped on the back of the thumb. SCOOP model, Hand Formed Spot Greased Pocket. It's hard to find these well made Canadian gloves/mitts these days, especially in this kind of condition.
