Large E. Porter Brewing Co. Joliet Ill 2 1/2L Figural Stein W/Lid Great Looking Pre Pro

This is a large 2 1/2L stein from the E. Porter brewing company in Joliet Illinois. The brewery was active from 1891-1920 and again from 1933-1935. The stein stands 18 3/4ins tall. It has an excellent subject matter. The stein itself is in relief to look like the trunk of a tree with the bark and cutoff branches. In the middle is a relief picture of a male Elk with a female in the background. The figural lid is a hunter with a gun standing next to a tree stump and a dog by his side. The bottom is marked Germany 1636. The stein itself is in very good condition with just some very fine allover glaze grazing. The lid which sits just off center on the stein has a repair on the edge and the head of the hunter looks like it’s been repaired (see pics). This piece displays very nicely and is a great piece of vintage brewery advertising.
