Description
Imperial German Reservist’s stein of Otto Kühne, who served with the 8 Kompany., Eisenbahn Regiment Nr. 1, Berlin-Schöneberg, 1910 – 1912. The stein displays five side scenes, roster, Locomotive finial and Prussian eagle thumblift. The stein is flawless and guaranteed unaltered and original to the period. Eisenbahn troops were part of the elite Garde Corps and were responsible for guarding and maintaining the railroads within Germany, and during wartime the General Staff took over direct control of the units of the Eisenbahn regiments. This particular unit was garrisoned at Berlin-Schöneberg which was the first station building of the Royal Prussian military railway constructed in 1877. Max Immelmann (21 September 1890 – 18 June 1916) who was the first German World War I flying ace once served as an officer candidate in this unit. Transit fees for these fragile pieces of history is expensive. Each stein purchased from me will be double boxed with new, heavy-duty shipping containers sent via FedEx ground, IMPORTANT: FedEx requires a physical address. The costs are per stein. I am not able to combine shipping because shipping more than one stein per package presents a danger of breakage to both pieces. No shipments outside the continental United States.
