German Stoneware Beer Stein King Gambrinus Inlaid Lid c.pre 1900's
The relief decor on the front of the stein shows King Gambrinus - the legendary inventor of hopped malt beer.  There is a figure of the King sitting on a beer barrel and saluting with a stein. The sides of the stein are decorated relief pictures of barley, vines, and leaves.  Printed on the stein is "1/2 L".
The ceramic lid has a crack in it.  The lid has a drawing of an old gentleman and a woman with an infant.  The phrase "ah wie lieb! Die ganze mama!" is printed on the ceramic lid.  Translated it means roughly "oh how nice! The whole mom!"  (Per Google translator)
