German Regimental Military Beer Stein
Dated 1902-1904
Pewter lid
Lithophane ~ can't make out the scene, any help is appreciated!
Vivid colors, appears hand-painted
Height about
10 1/2" including lid
Porcelain portion 6 3/4" high, 3 1/8" diameter top, 4 1/2" diameter base
Weighs 2 pounds 2.5 ounces
NO CRACKS
NO HAIRLINES
NO CHIPS
NO CRAZING
Looks like some paint wear around base, though may be imperfect application
Pewter topside has scuffs, scratches & is darkened with age
Pewter top underside is shiny with marks & shading
Lid seems a bit loose & wobbly, hinge is in proper alignment
Lid base is a bit out of round
The top finial is off-kilter with some bends to the base under wagonwheels
Overall the lid & finial needs some experienced adjustment & alignment
