Description
Offered here is a vintage 1960s German beer stein standing 14 1/2" tall. It is heavy ceramic (nearly 4 lbs) and features the Lord's Prayer in German throughout its surface. I suppose this is for praying while you drink. It is 4" at the base and 2 1/3" opening over which is covered by a flip-top pewter lid attached to a 2 1/2" substantial handle. Unfortunately, as many of these steins suffer from, the bottom embossment/stamp is only partial. It also appears that after it was stamped, the clay was evened out to stand properly before the it had dried. Hence, you can only make out 'Germany' and part of 'West,' part of the number, only the 'M' and half circle of the usual circled RM. Also, unfortunately, this reduces its value from the usual 0+. Otherwise, it is in mint and clean vintage condition! It belonged to a German friend who has been living in Venezuela as a missionary, and who just returned to the states before departing again. I offer it here on her behalf, clean and damage free, from a non-smoking pet-free home. Please ask questions before bidding, as I'm happy to answer and do not honor refunds. Your stein will be packaged carefully and mailed within 2-3 days of cleared payment, if not earlier.
Thanks for looking!
