    Description

    Offered is a
    Wilson-made baseball glove
    for a youth, and marketed
    as an
    autograph model of George Brett
    .  This is
    not
    a
    USA-Mad
    e
Wilson glove, probably being made in Taiwan or somewhere off-shore, but where ever the glove was made for
    Wilson's Sporting Goods
, Wilson's Quality Control staff flunked the test that should have been an easy put-out for them.  Actually, I am appalled at the lack of attention Wilson's baseball glove division demonstrated for letting this error slip out.
George Brett played 21 seasons, primarily as a third baseman in Major League Baseball for the Kansas City Royals.  He was an
    All-Star third baseman
    ...
    thirteen times
.  George Brett was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999 on the first ballot, and is the
    only
    player
in history to win a batting title in three different decades.  George Brett was so respected that he was named vice president of baseball operations after retiring from his position as a player.  Summed up,
    George Brett was great!
But as great as George Brett was, he was
    not
    a
    Cy Young Award Winner
    .  Yet this
Wilson glove purports him to be!
    Please take a look above at the photos # 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 9...
    especially
    #
    2
.  On the pinkie finger inside the pocket area it clearly states,
    "Cy Young Award Winner"
.  I honestly do not know who the Wilson staff is referring to, but it obviously shouldn't have been George Brett, because George Brett was no pitcher and did
    not
    win the
    Cy Young Award
    .
    The glove itself is in
    excellent
condition, and I have used it recently in playing catch with my grandson .  It has an excellent pocket; in fact, so good that I tried to get my grandson to use it instead of his glove that he currently picked out.  But kids today want their gloves to be a certain color, etc., because their buddies have a "colored" glove.  All the lacing on this glove is good and tight.  There is nothing wrong with this glove...except for one thing...George Brett did NOT win the Cy Young Award.  (In fact, I went online and found this same model # 3276 and guess what?  It looks exactly like this glove except the glove on the internet does
    not
have the Cy Young Award Winner on the pinkie finger.  I guess somewhere down the line the Wilson Sporting Goods people spotted their mistake and corrected it.)
Talk about a rarity?  How about promoting George Brett to have won a Cy Young Award?  (George Brett won so many awards in his 21-year playing career that he certainly needed no help from
    Wilson Sporting Goods
    to win another one!)
Thank you for viewing my EBAY auction item.  (Please note:  I do
    not
    ship internationally.)  God bless.
