Dr Merkle German Beer Stein / Seidel / Tankard, w/ Pewter Lid. New, never used.

Description

Beautiful Porcelain Beer Stein / Bierkrug / Seidel / Tankard by Dr. Merkle Atelier (in pattern reminiscent of Spode's India Tree) with beautifully tasteful Pewter / Zinn lid / cap and foot / base, decorated with beautiful floral chrysamthemum motif in warm browns on white background.  New, never used.  7.5" high x 6” wide x 4.5” deep, weight: 2lb.
NOTE:
This Dr. Merkel stein
has sat in a china cabinet ever since, unused in original condition, with original sticker/tag. The Euro to US Dollar exchange rate currently in 2021 is 1 Euro = .20 US dollars, for a retail sales price of 2.40 in 1995 US dollars.
According to the US dollar inflation calculator online, in 1995 is the equivalent of .74 today. So 2.40 (1995 dollars) x .73 = 1.75 in 2021 dollars.
So, if the Germans sold the identical stein today, at the identical price in adjusted 1995 Euros, the amount of current US dollars, a visiting American would need in his/her pocket to buy it, is 1.75.
Frankly, I haven't seen any stein, on EBay or otherwise, available for sale that in my opinion is even half as beautiful as this Dr. Merkel stein (with the exception of my Hutschenreuter stein, and all I see is the standard Bavarian ceramic kitsch - whether antique or new.
