German ceramic, relief, 1/2 L, pewter lid.
The text on the body reads:
“
Dem Veilchen gleich, das im Verborgenen blüht, trink immer wie gut, auch wenn es niemand sieht!
Wenn’s Weib beim Ausgehn predigt, nimm sie mit, dann ist’s erledigt!
”
And translates to:
"
As the violet blooms in hiding, so always drink plenty and well, even if no one sees you.
If the wife preaches when you go out, take her with you, then the problem is solved.
"

Condition and Description:
Overall in very good condition, only minor issues of note: is an original factory defect on the bottom of the stein which consists of a blister chip and also a couple tears to the pewter lid (as pictured).
A wonderful stein with tremendous color and great presence!  Also of note, the bottom of the handle is a bit different, as it terminates in the shape of a snake or grotesque head.
Dimensions:
Height: ~ 10" tall from base to finial top
Width: ~ 4" wide at base
On the subject of shipping and handling, I have a 100% success rate(knock on wood) with the steins I have packed and shipped arriving to their new homes in perfect condition.  This stein will be well packed and shipped fully insured, USPS priority or Fedex home.
Also, in addition to combining shipping for multiple lots won - I am willing to ship internationally, just let me know before you bid.  eBay's global shipping program does not allow for a combined invoice/shipping, so please keep that in mind as an international bidder.
