  • Condition: Here is a real heavy well made antique beer stein that I found in a steamer trunk in a Naugatuck CT barn. I don't see a makers mark on the bottom but there are some odd letters, numbers, or a logo stamped on the back to upper left of handle. See pic . If that's the makers mark than collectors will probably immediately recognize what it means and who manufactured this. I am pretty sure this really old stein is from Germany most likely due to the quality and weight of the pottery and attention to detail in the figure. I find no damage to the stoneware and only some minor scuffs, soiling, and little dings and grinds to the heavy pewter lid assembly. For extreme accuracy. Capture is that of a fat bellied monk whom is obviously bloated from consuming too much beer! Weighs nearly 2 pounds and is around 7" tall. Please ask questions in advance and I will add any info offered by experienced collectors. Probably a rare stein but there are many varieties that I was unable to find an exact match.
