    Description

Photos show everything. Not sure the age, I'm guessing from the 1940s. Eddie Robinson debuted in 1942 with the Cleveland Indians. He played 13 seasons in the major leagues, with several different teams, including the Detroit Tigers. She later went on to work in baseball in various capacities.  He was a first baseman, I believe, and this is a first baseman's mitt or glove. Eddie celebrated birthday number 100 on December 15th, 2020. This mitt is in remarkable condition for a 70-year-old collectible. It definitely shows use, definitely shows age, but it is definitely beautiful and in the condition shown. You can see the facsimile "Eddie Robinson" autograph right above the name "Johnny Walker" stamped into the leather. I believe right below Johnny Walker is the number "ST711". I could be wrong on that number, that's what it looks like to me. This mitt has a very nice pocket, worn, but not worn through.  Very nice webbing, I must assume that it has been restrung, at least partially. However, I am not the original owner, so I cannot attest to any part of the history. However, I can't attest to the fact that this is very beautiful, in my opinion. An awesome, antique piece of baseball history / memorabilia / equipment. Please use the zoom feature and ask any questions you may have.
