    Description

    A beautiful antique 1/2L German beer stein by Villeroy and Boch, made in Mettlach, Germany with a threaded relief design depicting hops leaves in a geometric pattern encircling the body of the stein.  There is a pewter lid with a pottery inlay.
    This stein is listed in the online website, “The Beer Stein Library” with a value of 0-0.
    The stein measures 6 3/4” high to the top of the pewter thumb lift and is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or pewter damage.
    I am a member of Stein Collectors International as well as a member of the Chicago area chapter, The Meister Steiners. For anyone collecting German beer steins or interested in German steins, I would highly recommend joining SCI, as you will receive publications and can communicate with members from all over the world about steins.  There are also past publications online, where you can research steins through a number of scholarly articles.
