    Description

Antique German Glass Beer Stein Jugendstil/Art Nouveau w/Blue and White Overlay Spots c.1910s
    Description:
Presented is a beautiful German beer stein made of hand-blown and stone-engraved crystal glass around 1900 - 1910s. The stein is designed in the so-called "Jugendstil" style - a German version of Art Nouveau that is characterized by simplicity and elegance.
The main elements of design are blue and white glass circles made with overlay technque. They are not enameled but overlayed colored glass elements that are applied into the body of the stein to create bright spots in contrast with simplistic cylindrical form. The whole piece was made by an artist, not just a craftsman working on somebody else's design.
The lid is pewter with with a flat top and beautiful protruding thumblift.
The stein is in excellent flawless condition - a collector's dream.
It is 7" tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity.
