Description
These large door plates were made in the mid-19th century and are cast bronze. The mortise lock is by Sargent and Company, and has their logo and patent date of 1870 stamped on the side. The substantial plates are covered with Victorian vernacular floral elements and are in very good condition.  The ornate mortise lock, which operates by way of the levers on the backs of the plates, works stiffly.  We include the antique cast bronze strike plate for your jamb.
Antique Victorian Door Plates both measure 2 3/4" by 9 3/8". Handles are 5" on center. Lock faceplate is 1 1/8" by 4 5/8"; depth of box is 31/4" and height is 2 7/8".
