Don't adjust your set. These large door plates were made by Sargent and Company and have a patent date of 1872 stamped on the backs. The substantial plates are cast bronze and have acquired a considerable amount of natural verdigris - or green patina. Both are covered with Victorian vernacular geometric elements, including fleur-de-lis and ribbons.  One of the thumb-levers is quite stiff.  The ornate Sargent mortise lock, patented in 1870, works well with the other thumb lever.  We include the strike plate for your jamb.
Antique Sargent Door Plates both measure 2" by 9 3/4". Handles are 4 1/2" on center. Lock faceplate is 1" by 4 1/2"; depth of box is 2 5/8" and height is 2 7/8".
