    You are viewing a huge Mettlach Villeroy & Boch Stein with a Tavern Scene #2223.  This stein stands 22" tall including the handle.  Please note that the handle has been repaired (see photos).  There is also wear to the paint around the bottom of the stein, a tiny ding on the pewter spout and a tight hairline approximately 2" which I only notice when I looked on the inside of the stein near where the top part of the handle is attached.  I do not think the the entire hand was ever off of this piece, just the middle portion (below the pewter and above where the handle is attached at the bottom) appears to have been affected.  It appears to be a fairly decent repair.  Although it is not perfect, it is not a common pieces and will still make a great
