Description
Here is a vintage late 1970's to early 1980's MacGregor top of the line type Premium ProHide model PS2 baseball catchers mitt or glove for a RH thrower. The quality leather is still soft and useable. The mitt is adult sized and measures 12" long through the pocket. Major League quality. Stamped on the front of the glove (a little faint in places) is For The Professional Player, Deep Grab Pocket. the Premium Pro Hide bull logo, Scoop Toe, Flex-Action, PC2, MacGregor. Stamped on the back of the mitt is MacGregor, Dual Flex Hinge, 20D Korea, Professional Model, ProHide. The Premium Pro Hide steer logo is also stamped on the interior leather. There are two cloth MacGregor patches on the back. The backstrap is adjustable with a belcro type leather piece. The mitt measures 12" long through the palm and measures 12" straight across. It measures 34" around. Per the McGregor catalog information this mitt was made as an unendorsed catchers mitt from 1978 to 1982. A quality mitt that could still be used today. The mitt weighs 1 pound 7 ounces. The only owner's ink on the mitt is the name Frank written in red marker or the underside of the backstrap leather adjustable piece. So it is not noticeable when unless you go looking for it. The stamping on the mitt is light in places due to use, but still readable. The bottom of the web has been relaced. The leather piping is soft and is worn through on the bottom edges of the backstrap, which one of the pictures will show. Miss is still very functional and useable. Soft leather inside and out. Smooth interior leather and soft. Nice looking and feeling vintage mitt. Nice original Macgregor patches on the back. Wool padding on the bottom on the backstrap is still there. There's a small divot of leather out of the front of the mitt just at the top of the "S" in Scoop Toe.
I have other gloves and mitts on eBay ending now and I like to combine shipping whenever possible. If you win more than one glove you'll have to pay the grand total for shipping. But I'll refund you the difference back on the price of combined shipping. Or I'll send out an invoice if possible.
