Description
Made in the Phillipines in the 1970s according to the KeyMan Collectibles Web Site, this is a Rawlings RBG 90 left handed baseball glove. This one does not show a size on it, but it is much smaller than the 12 1/2 RBG 27 that I just got done listing. The measurement from the bottom of the glove to the tip of the little finger is just about 1 1/2" to 2" shorter. Rawlings gloves have long been the preferred glove for professional baseball players. The gloves are made with leather from the Horween Leather company which has been supplying the leather for these gloves since 1929. Rawlings produced just about 3,000 gloves in 2003. About half of major league players use gloves made of the Horween Leather. This glove is in exceptional condition and the eather is very nice and supple. I have measured this glove to be about 9 5/8" wrist to fingertips, and 10" at it's widest spread without forcing it. This glove could be used in a game tomorrow !! I have just noticed some very faded writing along the outside of the thumb area...the last letters are a big capital B with a smaller 10 or IO. There was writing before those letters but I can't make them out. I will try to get some photos in better light. It looks like they may have been written with a sharpie that faded out with the sun. Be sure and take a good look at the photos as they will give you a much better idea of condition than I can with the written word. Happy Collecting.!!
