  • Condition: No owner's ink on the glove. The front catching area leather is very stiff and would really need to be conditioned to try to do anything with it. But it has a neat pocket formed as it is. The web is stiff. Some of the exterior leather on the back is also stiff and some is softer. The interior leather is nice and soft. The glove has a nice shiny Rawlings shield logo brass button. It's hard to get the button hole to move, so I didn't try. This is for display purposes and really cool! Lacing is original and intact. Vinyl covered cloth piping is stiff and looks really nice for its age. There are some stain spots here and there.

    Description

    If you collect any of the 1950's era Rawlings PM or Playmaker three finger baseball gloves, you'll appreciate this glove. It is a model PM 30 glove that is called the Midget Playmaker and it is small but still has lots of the qualities and designs of the bigger PM's. The leather on the glove is stiff I should note. This glove measures 7.5" long through the palm and measures 5" across as it sits now in it's stiff shape. The glove weighs 6 ounces. This is a non-endorsed glove and the only stamping on the front is Midget Playmaker, Deep Well Model, Hinged Pad, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., Rawlings and PM30. The only stamping on the back leather is Pat. No. 2311949. I took one picture with a regulation size baseball for you to better gauge the size of the glove.  The Rawlings catalog info I have shows this glove made with the name Midget Playmaker in 1949 and 1950. It was also made in 1952 but I can't tell if it used the Midget name then.
