DESCRIPTION & CONDITION
This auction is for a used and worn 1940s Davega sports Joe Madwick signature model #74 baseball mitt that was sold at the time as a replica to what Joe played with.
Joe Medwick, nicknamed "Ducky" and "Muscles", was an American Major Leager who played for the St. Louis Cardinals. During the "Gashouse Gang" era of the 1930s he played left field. AS a player in the Majors, he also played with the Brooklyn Dodgers, NewYork Giants and Boston Braves. Joe was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1968.
This mitt is in poor condition but not so much that it can't be a nice addition to a Madwick fan or baseball collection. The photos speak for themselves.
Most of it's worst wear damage is on the interior. The exterior, in particular the palm and webbing is still fairly pliable and smooth.  As is, this item is still a very nice rare vintage item for display or displaying a ball.
