Description
****This is an excellent example of an Imperial German beer stein, commemorating the 1st Bavarian Field Artillery Regiment. This particular stein is for a Mr. Horst Fallmann who served with this unit from 1901-1903. This particular stein shows soldiers loading an artillery piece, as well as a golden 1 in a red "shoulder board" with a royal crown hovering above it. Below the front insignia is a Bavarian crest. On the back of the stein beside the handle are names of men who served in this regiment. The top of the stein is adorned with a cannon ornament, and the thumb lever to open this lid is a Bavarian lion, holding a shield. The bottom shows what looks to be a maker's mark of XR or KR, Germany, with the word that translates to hand painted. This stein measures a total height of 10 3/4 inches.............See Images****
