Provenance:
This item was purchased through an established local auction house. It comes to you from the estate of a late gentleman who lived in Long Island, NY -- who never married, and reportedly spent his spare time (and $$) on collecting the very best antique items -- especially from Austria and Germany.
Condition Details:
As with all my listings (unless explicitly stated otherwise), they come from a NON-smoking environment.
- The stein is in OUTSTANDING condition for its age.
- I see NO cracks, chips, crazing, or pewter abuse/damage.
- On one side, at the base, there is a very professional repair.  The glaze is (in my opinion) perfectly matched, and it looks like this was probably done by the factory.  Unless you're looking for the repair, you will probably never notice it.  (SEE FINAL TWO PHOTOS.)  Still, keep this in mind as you bid.  The stein has been price-pointed accordingly.
